___ Question: Where does war come from?
___ Answer:
- 1) The reason there is war is that in life, there is a collection of labor and taxes. War is to win share: revenue and taxes, but if they don't have them, what's the use of fighting? Behold, in the past, King Yao, Thuan, the recruitment copy has his own name, and the collection book has his own signature. Starting a job with self-help people, all of them are self-generated, not forced, so they are not born contrary. And no one competes for work: for if the purpose is right, it will be to have the heart of a helper. Therefore, in the world of common sentient beings, there should be a place of peace, peace thanks to the place of equality, because everyone is the same.
- 2) In the past, the sage and morality were like the head, the farmer was the belly, the worker was the hand, the merchant was the leg, that is like a head on the lower leg. Worshiping morality as the head, putting down desires as the legs, the body is in good shape. But later on, on the contrary, people worshiped the greedy desires of merchants to the top, and put down the sage and sage. Just as the body is upside down, the legs are on top, the head is upside down below, the hands of a worker. For that reason, in the market, the merchants oppressed the sage, while in the village, the workers bullied the farmers. Causing the head to turn upside down, the feet to faint, standing unable to walk, again sinking deeply, giving birth to suffering and tribulation.
Therefore, if you want to be at peace, you must first put down your love and greed, like the other foot has been put down, the hand of a broom worker goes up, letting go of evil things. So that in life, there will be: the sages, farmers, workers, and merchants will be like a favorable body. The head is above, the foot is below! Feet standing on the ground and head in the sky, walking above matter, but standing below spirit. Only then will they be born in peace, tranquility, and peace for the world.
- 3) Behold, like the ancients, the reasons for living and eating are different for the elderly, adults, and children: children live and eat for the physical body, evil. Adults live and eat with their good reason, spirit, and reason. Old people live and eat by reason: their pure moral heart.
But if old people still live and eat according to good reason. If adults live and eat according to evil, children say to them: live and eat according to pure reason, how can it be? So, not three classes at war with each other. Old men kill adults, adults harm children, children kill old men; it's a waste of human lives and an injustice to the lower class. Since the superiors have gone against each other, how can they be at peace with each other?
- 4) And here is the relative of the poor and the rich!
A lucky person, born in a good land, has a good harvest, predestined conditions and circumstances give them wealth, so whoever's possessions are full and abundant, their house will enjoy. Others are unlucky, encounter bad soil, lose crops, and predestined conditions and circumstances make them poor. So we have to contribute, share, and help each other to overcome poverty and shortage. That is, due to different circumstances, it is difficult for anyone to follow the plight and status of others. Beings in life, there are many levels. Therefore, their understanding was not the same. It's like in school, where there are many classes and different levels of students. Anyone with any level can take their own classes, not all, but only one level of a person, like a grade! For example, in life, there is a certain rich person who oppresses another poor person. Oh my! It is also just each person together, not all rich people are evil. As for the poor who are cunning, there will be each cunning person, not everyone poor is worse. So, if that conflict does happen, it must also be caused by each of them individually, not someone from outside or inside who defends theism*, to harm each other and cause suffering.
With that in mind, we can see the origin of war: there is no hatred; the absurdity is due to a lack of understanding, because they are forever apart. Not knowing how to be true to each other, a lack of closeness and love, so it must be easy because of each other's friction.
- 5) But maybe that war, not the karma of common sentient beings, was caused by the past or the present. Because of the body, mouth, and mind, having forever cursed and uttered lies, slashed, stabbed, beaten, evil nature had become a habit, set a bad example, and caused hatred. Raised self-love, so he accepted the word of the doctrine, of evil karma. Did not realize that Buddhism is the only right way: the lessons must be changed forever, the classes are many, but they are still in the same school. Sharing the same learning is to move forward, to meet in the upper class more, but give up all, no longer bring the knowledge of the lower class.
- 6) That war with each other is like the first day of school for students every new school year, like meeting each other at school for the first time. So bewildered, still familiar with the old nature: letting go, competing, jostling, and encroaching...While it's not yet class time, the class has not been arranged to distinguish, nor understand what the purpose of learning is!
Therefore, it should be recognized that: Life is a school, the world of sentient beings is common: it is a student. The school has peace because of the teachers, everyone understands the purpose of knowing is to learn, of the spirit is to practice, and of life is to live together temporarily. Being in school together, studying together is to be wise, kind, and to avoid suffering. Indeed, in this life, sentient beings know that they are students and understand justice: fear of sin! Don't force it and say: others should be afraid of you, don't be a sinner, and cause death!... Therefore, that gives rise to a loan repayment! Being educated, knowing morality, will bring peace forever; that is good, precious, and best of all.
